Director’s Message

It is both a privilege and a responsibility to lead College Ste Marie and to be part of a community that has spent the past two decades accompanying young people through some of the most important years of their lives. Since joining the college, I have been continually inspired by the professionalism of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the strong partnership that exists between the school and families. Together, they create a vibrant and supportive environment where learning extends far beyond the classroom.

At College Ste Marie, we believe that education is about more than academic achievement. It is about helping young people develop the knowledge, values and life skills that will guide them throughout their lives. Our role is to provide a learning environment that challenges students to achieve their potential while supporting their personal growth and wellbeing. We are committed to maintaining a culture built on respect, discipline, responsibility and mutual trust. Equally important is our commitment to open communication and collaboration with parents, whose partnership remains essential in the educational journey of every child. As we continue to grow and evolve, our focus remains unchanged: to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to flourish academically, socially and personally, and to leave our institution as a confident, responsible and caring young adult.

OUR HISTORY

College Ste Marie opened its doors on 17 January 2005 at St Charles Lees inRose Hill with two Form I classes and 45 students. What began as a modesteducational project has since grown into a thriving secondary schoolcommunity located on a four acre campus in Palma, Quatre Bornes.

The college was established through the vision of Bishop Maurice Piat, whorecognised the need for a fee paying Catholic secondary school thatwould provide quality education while nurturing strong human andspiritual values. At a time when many families were seeking an educationalenvironment aligned with these principles, College Ste Marie emerged as aresponse to that aspiration.

From its inception, the college has sought to offer an education thatdevelops the whole person. While inspired by the educational tradition the Loreto institutions and guided by the example of the Virgin Mary, thecollege has always welcomed students from diverse backgrounds andbeliefs within a spirit of openness, respect and inclusion.

The college motto, Discere ad Serviendum – Learn to Serve – continues toguide its mission today. More than a slogan, it reflects a commitment todeveloping young people who combine knowledge with compassion, achievement with humility and personal success with service to others.

Over the years, College Ste Marie has remained faithful to its foundingvision while continuously evolving to meet the needs of new generations oflearners. Today, it continues to prepare students not only for academicsuccess, but also for meaningful lives of purpose, responsibility andcontribution.
