Nourishing Minds, Stitching Creativity, Building Futures
Developing independence, creativity and practical knowledge
Food Studies & Food and Textiles Studies provide students with valuable life skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Through the study of nutrition, food preparation, consumer awareness and resource management, students learn how informed choices contribute to health and wellbeing.
The subject combines theoretical understanding, applied scientific concepts, and practical application, encouraging responsibility, organisation and creativity. Students develop skills that support independent living while gaining an appreciation for the importance of balanced lifestyles and informed decision-making.
At College Ste Marie, Food Studies & Food and Textiles Studies encourage students to develop confidence in practical tasks while building knowledge that remains relevant throughout life.
